Anne Frank's Museum

-->
Hello everybody!
Today we find ourselves in Amsterdam, city that has during the last years grown in tourism and has many tourist attractions due to its history and cultural lifestyle. However, we would like to focus in Anne Frank, who all of you will know for her Diary.

Anne Frank was a German-Jewish teenager girl who lived secretly during the Holocaust in an annex of rooms above her father’s office in Amsterdam for over two years during World War II. Her Diary evokes the feelings and experiences of a young girl living one of the most dreadful moments in history. Due to its first person experience the book became a must-have in peoples bookshelves, selling over 30 million copies and being translated into 67 languages.
Despite the initial plans of demolishing the house, nowadays the hiding place of Anne Frank and her family is the third most visited museum in Amsterdam.
Two renewals were necessary to make the house a museum due to the increasing interest of the tourists and it was actually the second renewal, which made a big change.
When visiting the museum house you will notice that the hiding place is quite big for a refuge and there are many well-known spots in the house such as the: the rotating secret library door, Anna’s bedroom, the kitchen and living room…

 Anne Frank’s house attracted 1.152.888 visitors in 2012 becoming a record. If you are interested in visiting Anne’s museum this is the price list:

·      Adults: 9€
·      Teenagers (from 10-17 years old): 4,50€
·      Children (up to 10 years old): Free.

We invite you to visit Anne Frank’s museum were you can experience in first person how they lived those painful two years. We consider the museum a great place for those who are interested in history and overall for those who want to get carried away with Anne’s story.

Guess what the next blog update will be about….hint: a real magical place!
